The Universities Association for Lifelong Learning
(UALL) is a national body, representing the interests of the Continuing
Education/Lifelong Learning community within Higher Education
UALL has well-established links with Funding
Councils, the Department for Education and Skills, Universities UK and
the Standing Conference of Principals, and is consulted regularly on Continuing
Education and Lifelong Learning issues. The Association:
- Represents
continuing education and lifelong learning interests to policy makers
and policy making bodies.
- Facilitates
communication, collaboration, networking and the exchange of good practice.
- Promotes
quality and high standards.
- Disseminates information on policy, practice
and funding.
- Collaborates
in research and development.
- Organises
an annual conference, seminars and workshops.
- Publishes papers, conference and seminar
proceedings.
The Association has over 180 representatives
from more than 100 member institutions on UALL Council, including virtually
all UK universities, many international universities and an increasing
number of colleges.
The Council elects Association Officers (Vice-Chairs,
a Treasurer, Secretary and Editor) and an Executive Committee. The Chair
of the Association is a member of Universities UK; the current Chair is
Professor Peter Scott, Vice-Chancellor of Kingston University.
The Association's professional activities
are conducted through a series of Networks, with membership open to staff
from any institution belonging to UALL.
UAce Membership entitles your institution

at UALL Council meetings and the AGM.

in the annual conference, seminars and workshops.

to a community of colleagues and institutions actively involved in lifelong
learning and continuing education.

of the journals 'Studies in the Education of Adults' and 'The Journal
of Adult and Continuing Education'.

of the UALL Annual report.
- UALL electronic bulletins.

opportunity to contribute to and receive a range of UALL publications.
- Participation

Scottish Universities Association for Lifelong
Learning - SUALL and UALL (Cymru) have active committees and several regional
groups have developed in England.
The Annual subscription rates for UALL membership
are:
£650.00 per institution for Full
Membership (two representatives)
£300.00 per institution for Associate Membership (one representative)
£100.00 per institution for International Membership
£ 75.00 per person for Individual Membership
