The Universities Association for Lifelong Learning (UALL) is a national body, representing the interests of the Continuing Education/Lifelong Learning community within Higher Education

UALL has well-established links with Funding Councils, the Department for Education and Skills, Universities UK and the Standing Conference of Principals, and is consulted regularly on Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning issues. The Association:

  • Represents continuing education and lifelong learning interests to policy makers and policy making bodies.
  • Facilitates communication, collaboration, networking and the exchange of good practice.
  • Promotes quality and high standards.
  • Disseminates information on policy, practice and funding.
  • Collaborates in research and development.
  • Organises an annual conference, seminars and workshops.
  • Publishes papers, conference and seminar proceedings.

The Association has over 180 representatives from more than 100 member institutions on UALL Council, including virtually all UK universities, many international universities and an increasing number of colleges.

The Council elects Association Officers (Vice-Chairs, a Treasurer, Secretary and Editor) and an Executive Committee. The Chair of the Association is a member of Universities UK; the current Chair is Professor Peter Scott, Vice-Chancellor of Kingston University.
