The website is the main channel of communication between the Steering Committee and members, between members and between EUCEN and the world.

Members are alerted by e-mail when new sections are put on the website.

Characteristics of the webpages

Two separate sections: an ‘open’ and a ‘members only’ sections.

• EUCEN Conferences – past (including reports) and future
• Activities of task forces and working groups
• EUCEN projects – past and present
• Archive documentation centre

• In the ‘members only’ section:

• EUCENews - a new continuous newsletter will be a permanent feature New items will be entered at least once a week.
• Summary of Steering Committee minutes. Members are invited to contact Barcelona office for a copy of full minutes.
• Forthcoming conferences – a place for information about conferences which may be of interest to, or be organised by, member universities on themes related to lifelong learning.
• A market place: partner searches and information about course and projects seeking participants.
• ‘Focus on…’ – this is an opportunity to bring together information, guidelines, tools, short papers about a particular topic – in different languages. The first 3 topics were ODL, Quality and Assessment of Prior Experiential Learning/ Validation des acquis professionels (APEL/VAP) and the Draft Memorandum on Lifelong Learning from the European Commission.

• Network records – Archives of old General Assembly and Steering committee papers and minutes.
• Members contact information – links to websites.
• Financial information – bank details and how to pay subscription.
